U7's Warming Up
Hertford RFC - Sunday 2nd Nov, in absolutely terrible weather conditions 6x Hitchin U7 teams played some wonderful rugby and encountered very difficult opponents. The scores were a lot closer than the teams realised on the day, and they can all be very proud of the way they continued to play their own game while never giving up.
Hitchin 2 squad - Ethan , Lewis , William, Charlie & Loan players:
Match 1 v Bedford 1 Lost 6-10 tries from Lewis 2, Ethan, Charlie, Loan player 2
Match 2 v Bedford 2 Lost 7 -9 tries from Ethan 3 , Lewis 2 , William 2
Match 3 v Hertford 1 Lost 7-10 tries from Lewis 4 , William 2 , Ethan
Match 4 v Hitchin 1 Lost 5 -6 tries from Ethan 2, Lewis, Charlie, William
Match 5 v Hertford 2 Lost 4-7 tries from Ethan 3, Lewis.
Hertford streamed there top two teams with their best players, and Hitchin 2 should be very proud of their display on the day.
The coaches were all very proud of their teams attitudes today, to continue in such cold wet weather. The tries towards the end of the set of games showed what the boys could do and it was a pleasure to see them fight on and never got despondent.
Hitchin 3 squad - Sam, George, Roscoe, Mackenzie & Loan players
Match 1 v Bedford Won 11-10
Match 2 v Hertford 1 Lost 7-8
Match 3 v Bedford (aka Hitchin 4) Lost 9-10
Match 4 v Hertford 2 Won 9-6
It was a great effort from the (very soggy!) kids with some fantastic supporting teamwork throughout. As testimony to their hard work the kids final opponents for Match 4 were unbeaten until playing Hitchin 3.
Hitchin 5 squad - Lauren, Jack & Harry & Loan players:
Match 1 v Hertford 2 Drew 8-8
Match 2 vs Bedford 5 Won 9-8
Match 3 vs Bedford 6 Won 10-8
Match 4 vs Hertford 3 Won 6-5
Match 5 vs Hertford 2 Lost 7-9
3 wins, 1 loss, and a draw. Lauren, Jack and Harry played with smiles on their faces, great teamwork and respect for the opposition. All our players scored tries, ran good lines and showed great commitment. They were boosted by hot chocolate from Lauren's dad (Matt) half way through. Lots of fun in the rain with 5 different guest players from our opponents making up the numbers.
Finally many thanks for the vocal parental support, as it really was appreciated this week.
