Royston arrived with barely 9 players on a
cold damp morning but after having played all 27 of the Hitchin team they left considerably warmer and with a final win
to boot!

responded and was very unfortunate to be pushed into touch just feet
from the try line.

tackle to prevent a try.
Tries: Jude Schoeman (1),

Players of the week: Josh Platt for his sheer
determination, seizing every opportunity. Jessica for successfully completing her first
match!
Comments from Rob: I was very pleased with
the amount of pressure we were able to exert on the opposition from a
high defensive line and players running onto the ball from our set piece
and breakdowns. Two points to work on are, a) supporting the attacking
runner and therefore the ball and b) completing the tackle, too many
times we were pushing\barging the opposition into touch. Please remember
that a tackle consists of driving in with the shoulder and wrapping
round with the arms. One last point was ‘jumping into contact’ with the ball. I
consider this dangerous play and will be telling referees to penalise it immediately. It is dangerous to the
tackler as they can be caught by your knees or boots and it is very
dangerous for you as you can be knocked 360 degrees in the air (lets not
give Nick James and unnecessary work)!
