Leighton Buzzard Ladies 27 v Hitchin Ladies 12
It's a bit of a theme at the moment but it was another freezing day for the ladies fixture at Leighton Buzzard last Sunday. While their performance was much improved from the last time they met, it still resulted in a 27 -12 defeat for them. The teamwork and commitment continues to improve and the backs made many attacking runs to support their forward's play. Rachael Groves was playing only her second game and made a positive start. Amy Haughton scored the first try of the game for Hitchin with a strong run, breaking through Buzzard's defence and Natalie Mellowship followed this by securing the conversion. Jan Haines appeared to turn up everywhere on the pitch when a tackle or attacking move was required showing that she really can play in any position on the pitch. Natalie Mellowship scored Hitchin's second following a great offload from centre Claire Crompton. Unfortunately the scoring for Hitchin ended there, bur once again, there continues to be positive improvements every game for the ladies as they progress through their season.
